COVID-19

  • Information on COVID-19
    • How it spreads: COVID-19 is a respiratory illness, so it spreads through droplets that are shared when someone who is infected coughs, sneezes, and/or speaks.
    • Symptoms:
      • Typical indications include coughing, fever, and flu-like symptoms, which in mild cases last about two weeks
      • In some cases, the virus can develop into shortness of breath, pneumonia, or potentially death
      • The older patients are, as well as if they have pre-existing illnesses, the more they are at risk
    • How to protect yourself and others
      • Stay home and avoid close contact with others
      • Wash hands frequently and thoroughly
      • Disinfect surfaces and objects that are touched often
  • Help us raise awareness and reach our goal to help those in need.
  • Donations (We are raising funds through a GoFundMe page for Partners In Health (PIH) which is a global health organization restoring social justice by bringing quality health care to the most vulnerable around the world. Partners in Health strives to achieve two major goals; some of which bring the benefits of modern medical science to those most in need of them and to serve as an antidote to despair.
    • They draw on the resources of the world’s leading medical and academic institutions and on the lived experience of the world’s poorest and sickest communities.
    • In terms of the COVID-19 outbreak, Partners in Health (PIH) is aware that COVID-19 will disproportionately affect the most vulnerable and hit countries with weak health systems the hardest.
    • PIH launched a comprehensive effort to support this response across its network of supported countries around the world to: contain and control the spread of the virus, ensure that patients are provided with dignified care, and demonstrate to the world what aggressive action and vulnerable settings can achieve.
